As a trial lawyer, he understands the risks, costs and pitfalls of going to court --- and the distinct advantages of resolving dispute before and during litigation. He worked at CH2M Hill, a $6 billion engineering, construction and program management company, in positions of increasing responsibility: Corporate Counsel; Vice President for Contracts, Audit & Procurement; Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs; and Chief of Staff to the CEO.

As a trained lawyer-mediator, he understands complex issues quickly, develops alternative for the parties to consider, and facilitates the decision-making process that allows parties in dispute to find mutually beneficial solutions. Areas of expertise include complex construction projects, M&A transactions, employee ownership, government contracts and regulations, and project management.
